Tulsa King Proves Sylvester Stallone Will No Longer Be Denied

Sylvester Stallone

Tulsa King spoilers and updates tease that the new highly anticipated series starring Sylvester Stallone in the lead role is merely days away from premiering and Sly fans are all hyped up.

Taylor Sheridan’s expected smash hit, Tulsa King focuses on Dwight “The General” Manfredi who after a 25-year prison sentence for taking the fall for his mafia bosses, gets exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to start up a new mafia crew. Manfredi is sort of fish out of the water, a NY mafioso starting over again in the middle of nowhere that he knows absolutely nothing about, who Stallone calls a “mobster in cowboy boots.”

Tulsa King Spoilers – Stallone’s Take

In an interview with CBS news, Sylvester Stallone is almost overly eager to speak about Tulsa King, most probably because this is a role that he has been denied in the past for his whole professional career. Sly admits that he auditioned for a role in the GodFather as an extra and didn’t get it because he didn’t look Italian enough and Sly says the only thing more Italian than him is a pizza. At age 76, the Italian Stallion is playing a real mafioso. After The General finishes his stint in prison, his NY mafia family shuts him out and sends him west to set up a gambling and racketeering establishment, and when he lands in Tulsa, meets Tyson (Jay Will) who is there to pick him up, and The General ends up hiring for two grand a week to drive him around and also show him around. Sly says it is kind of like “put the Sopranos on a stagecoach and see what happens.”

Tulsa King Updates – Embracing The Culture

In Oklahoma, Sly, like his character The General, is embracing the culture. Sly has on a sweet pair of custom Roy Rogers boots. When asked why he never did a western, Sly says “look at me” and laughs. When he first became a star, it was none other than John Wayne who welcomed Sly to Hollywood, “you’re new in the business kid, welcome, I’m John Wayne,” and Sly admits he was star-struck.

Sheridan’s Yellowstone season 5 premieres on Sunday, November 13th as a lead into his new series, Tulsa King which showcases an all-star cast.
