Some shocking news is out for fans of The Witcher, as Liam Hemsworth will take over the role of Geralt of Rivia. You heard it, the series, which is heading for season 4, will have new blood in the lead role. Moreover, Hemsworth announced the news on Saturday, October 29.
Liam Hemsworth replaces Henry Cavill in The Witcher
Fans of The Witcher, including Liam Hemsworth, have always enjoyed Henry Cavill in the lead as Geralt of Rivia. However, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Hemsworth revealed that he will now play the lead role from season 4.
In fact, he announced the news on his Instagram, writing:
As a Witcher fan I’m over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia. Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.
Moreover, Hemsworth continued, writing, “Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character.” Liam closed by writing, “I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

Some news to share from The Continent… My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4.
In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.
Henry continued, saying, as, with the greatest of literary characters, he passes the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt. He is now waiting with “enthusiasm” to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Cavill closed, writing:
Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.
Henry Cavill returns as Superman
While many fans will, no doubt, be upset that Cavill is leaving The Witcher, other fans will be thrilled to see the actor return as Superman. Meanwhile, during the Happy Sad Confused podcast in New York City, Henry told his fans that his return means so much to him.
Cavill said it has now been five years, but he never gave up hope, adding:
It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman.
