It sounds like Yellowstone fans might get to watch two seasons of the upcoming prequel 1923 if Taylor Sheridan gets his way. The spinoff, which famously stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, will likely span two seasons of eight episodes each. Paramount+ is already gearing up for the premiere of the Yellowstone prequel series, 1923. However, before it even airs, a second season could reportedly already be in the works.

Deadline reports that negotiations between Sheridan and 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment for a second season are ongoing. Meanwhile, as his Yellowstone universe grows, Sheridan is reportedly exploring the possibility of adding two more limited series. In fact, there is a possibility that the franchise could cover the Dutton family’s dynasty during the 1940s and 1960s.

In the meantime, filming for season 1 of 1923 has already taken place at the Yellowstone Ranch in Montana. However, filming has also gone global with scenes filmed in South Africa, Tanzania, and Malta.

If the second season does come to pass, both seasons will run for eight episodes, starring Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and other stars. These include Robert Patrick, Brandon Sklenar, Sebastian Roché, Jerome Flynn and more.

Meanwhile, Paramount Network’s flagship series Yellowstone is set to premiere its fifth season with a double episode on Sunday, November 13. Prior to that, a two-episode premiere will also air at AMC theaters – find out how you can get a ticket for the premiere here.

The fifth season will likely be exciting with many fans longing for it to drop. This can be judged alone from the fact that the latest teaser trailer broke streaming records. Of course, the fact that viewers in the UK can now watch it on Paramount+ definitely adds to fan numbers.

The action features the present-day Duttons, with Kevin Costner’s John Dutton becoming the Montana Governor. As previously, Kelly Reilly stars as Beth, Luke Grimes as Kayce, Wes Bentley as Jamie and Kelsey Asbille as Monica Dutton. Other returning cast includes Cole Hauser, Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham and Jefferson White and more.

As fans will recall Taylor Sheridan’s other projects have included the Yellowstone prequel 1883, Mayor of Kingstown and the upcoming mob-related series, Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone. Moreover, plans for the spinoff 6666 are also in the works.
