Yellowstone Adds Love Interest For An ‘Unrecognizable’ Teen Fan Favorite Star

A lot can happen between seasons of a series, and this includes season 5 of Yellowstone. Due to this, one fan-favorite character looks very different and that is Finn Little, who plays Carter. They grow up too darn fast! Now in new casting news, a new cast member is being added who will be a possible love interest for the young teen. Read on to find out more about new additions to the fifth season of the modern Western series, Yellowstone.

Season 5 of Yellowstone

Yellowstone season 5 is coming soon and we already know we should expect some changes. As revealed in a recent trailer, a time jump has occurred between seasons 4 and 5. This fact does explain how one cast member wasn’t recognized by the film crew when they started production on the fifth season.

It turns out Finn Little, who plays Carter, has grown up so fast, he is barely recognizable now. On top of this, casting news reveals a possible love interest for this handsome young man. Finn joined the cast during season 4 when a young boy named Carter arrived on the ranch.

In fact, due to his resemblance to a young Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), Taylor Sheridan specifically wrote the role for the teen. Moreover, Taylor had been impressed with the young Australian after seeing Finn’s work on his film, Those Who Wish Me Dead with Angelina Jolie (pictured below).

Time goes by so quickly

However, when he first joined the cast in 2020 for season 4, he was only 14. However, when the cast started filming season 5 in early 2022, an almost two-year break had gone by. Like many teens, Little had a growth spurt during the break and now at 16, looks almost unrecognizable since fans last saw him.

In fact, probably as a warning to fans, he posted the above image to Instagram where he wrote:

… when you say, “hi, nice to see you!” to the film crew and they don’t know who you are!?

Moreover, he added in the comments: “That’s what cake and steak does to a kid.”

Changes in the fifth season of Yellowstone

From the latest trailer for season 5, it is clear that fans will see a lot of changes for the Dutton family. For one thing, John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is now Montana’s governor. Meanwhile, Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) are now a married couple.

However, on top of this, Entertainment Weekly recently reported a new cast member and love interest for our young Carter.

Orli Gottesman is joining the cast of Yellowstone as Halie, described as “a confident, fun, and outgoing girl who gravitates toward Carter.”

According to the character description, in season 5, Halie becomes the person who gives Carter a chance to come out of his shell. She will teach him not only about himself, but he will also find himself wanting Halie to be around.

Fans will recall that when Carter arrived on the ranch, his first interaction was with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), who ended up taking him in. Moreover, during the season, Carter was slowly but surely becoming a part of Beth and Rip’s family. In fact, according to Cole, the young man’s relationship with his new “parents” will make more progress during the fifth season.

Hauser revealed that he and Finn have some “good stuff” this year. He added that Rip is becoming more of a father figure to Carter, although he is growing up fast. Cole added:

And so there’s that relationship, which has been very cool to see blossom.
