Netflix Drops Trailer For Supernatural Mystery 1899 By Creators Of Dark

A trailer has just been released for the new supernatural, mystery series 1899, coming to Netflix in November. It will definitely be worth a look as it comes from the creators of the popular horror series, Dark. Read on to find out more about this latest scary series on the streaming platform.
Netflix series 1899 by creators of Dark

When Dark was first released on Netflix, it took the world by storm, despite the fact that the series is in German. Much later, the South Korean series Squid Game also attracted millions of views. More recently, Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) was also huge, despite the fact that the series is in Spanish. This goes to show that, despite the language barrier, a series from a foreign country can go viral. Naturally, the fact that the streamer has an excellent dubbing service also helps, for those who hate subtitles.
Now, a new supernatural series, 1899, is coming to Netflix from the creators of Dark. While the series title is 1899, this mustn’t be mistaken for another Yellowstone sequel. In fact, it is a very dark (in every way) series about a group of passengers on a trans-Atlantic boat journey that is forced to take a detour.
Meanwhile, the need for that detour is the fact they have come across the remains of another ship, the Prometheus, that had been assumed sunk. When they reach it, what they discover is unexpected and terrifying. According to the official IMDb page, they will be faced with a “nightmarish riddle.”
The official synopsis reads:
On their journey across the vast and treacherous Atlantic Ocean, the passengers of the Kerberos encounter the biggest mystery of their lives. Welcome to 1899, a deeply immersive new series from the creators of Dark.
