Yellowstone Season 5 Teaser: Don’t Expect Beth & Rip’s Wedding To Have An Impact

Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly recently spoke about her character, Beth’s marriage to Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler. She hinted that this fact won’t have a major impact on events happening in Season 5. In fact, she said, “The war feels internal this year for her.” Read on to find out more about Reilly’s interview with EW.
Rip and Beth’s marriage won’t affect Yellowstone season 5

The wedding of Rip (Cole Hauser) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) was a major part of the season 4 finale. However, fans shouldn’t expect this to have a major impact on season 5.
Reilly explained that Beth has always been devoted to Rip, adding that marriage does not change her. She added:
I think his love for her and hers for him is one of the very few things that keeps her demons at arm’s length (mostly).
However, it does make their living situation more official, as the first thing it changes is that Rip has moved into the main house. Cole Hauser noted that this is somewhere he has never really been that comfortable. In fact, he added:
It’s a weird thing to think that John Dutton [Kevin Costner] is actually related to him now through marriage.
Beth and Rip and the past

While a married couple does tend to look to the future, in Beth and Rip’s case, they will have to deal with the past in season 5. Cole said that what he likes about what [Taylor Sheridan] wrote is that he slow-burns the year with him and Beth, adding:
In the beginning, there’s some wonderful moments between the two of us, some stuff that she’s going through in her past, that she’s having to acknowledge for the first time, and me trying to help her through that.
Meanwhile, Kelly added that the war feels internal this year for her, adding that Beth is haunted by the past. However, she is also afraid for the future and fighting with all she has for the present moment.
Yellowstone star Luke Grimes on Kayce

As for Luke Grimes’ character Kayce, when fans meet him in season 5, he is off the ranch. Grimes said, “He’s sort of almost happy.”
In fact, Kayce seems like he likes his life on the res with the family. However, he said that as the story progresses, you realize he can’t stay away for too long, adding:
Something calls him to take care of that legacy.
Moreover, as season 5 begins, Kayce’s vision is still on his mind. In fact, Luke said that in true Kayce fashion, there is no relief from the “sort of rock and a hard place that he’s in between.”
Grimes then gave a hint about what fans can expect from season 5 of Yellowstone as a whole. He said every season has felt “incredibly different.” He added that this is the beauty of Taylor’s writing, saying:
He knows how to make this show just take every twist and turn it possibly could, and to keep it so fresh. Every year has felt very different from the last.
The interview with EW certainly teases an interesting fifth season and luckily, Yellowstone fans don’t have long to wait. Season 5 premieres on Paramount Network on Sunday, November 13, 2022.
