Yellowstone recently made a post to its official Instagram account to announce a new Dutton-related board game. At first, fans were excited to be able to buy the special game. However, many were quick to note the absence of one important person from the show, Kevin Costner as John Dutton. Paramount releases Yellowstone Monopoly game
Paramount Network is getting fans excited as the season 5 premiere draws near while putting the final touches on the upcoming episodes. However, knowing how popular the show is with viewers, Yellowstone has decided to release its own Monopoly game. There’s nothing like cashing in on a successful show, even if it is in Monopoly money.
In the game, which launches on October 10, players can buy, sell and trade iconic locations from the show. These include Kayce (Luke Grimes) and Monica’s (Kelsey Asbille) house and the Painted Horse Casino and Hotel.
Meanwhile, the board itself is beautifully illustrated, revealing popular cast members of the show. Besides Kayce and Monica, Beth (Kelly Reilly), Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Rip (Cole Hauser) are clearly featured. That is all well and good, but fans want to know why there is no sign of Costner’s character, John Dutton.
Where is Kevin Costner?
One Yellowstone fan commented, writing, “Love the concept, but can you guys explain why Costner isn’t on the board, more less front and center????? Blasphemy.” Another wrote, “Where is Kevin Costner? I won’t buy it without seeing him. He’s the whole show.”
Yet another commented on the Instagram post, writing, “I would have ordered one already ❤ What are they thinking.”
Meanwhile, some fans speculated that the Dutton patriarch is present in the game in a subtle way. One suggested, “I’m guessing that’s him on the horse in the silhouette up top.” However, another responded, writing:
I’m sorry but he needed to be upfront and center with [everyone] else next to him or behind him, definitely not a silhouette of him.
However, despite the critics, most Yellowstone fans are excited to have their own game to play during season 5. Mention of the upcoming holiday season saw one fan commenting, “My Christmas Wish List Just Got A Little Bigger!!!!!!!”
Meanwhile, another simply wrote, “How cool!! ❤” while another fan commented, “I love this and so ready for the show to come back on.”
How to buy Yellowstone Monopoly
While the official release date for the game is October 10, fans can already pre-order on the Yellowstone official website. In fact, the first batch of orders will be sent out on October 10 and a second batch on November 15.
