The Amazing Race spoilers and updates tease that this Wednesday, September 21st The Amazing Race returns in an all-new time slot at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
With all the excitement and buzz about a new season with some historic firsts, Phil shared with Parade his thoughts on the new teams.
The Amazing Race Spoilers – The Teams
This season there are twelve teams and for the first time ever, they will be departing outside of the United States.
The teams Aastha Lal and Nina Duong are coming to the race to have a good time. Aastha is a huge fan of the show and previously met Phil at an airport, he told her she should apply sometime, ad she did.
Linton Atkinson and Sharik Atkinson have been fans of TAR for a very long time. The father/daughter duo have always watched the show together so it was natural that they would compete together.
Emily Bushnell and Molly Sinert have the wildest story, being long-lost twins and spending so much time together on the race, for the first time in their lives.
Luis Colon and Michelle Burgos, he is a firefighter and they both have a lot of enthusiasm for the show.
Rich Kuo and Dom Jones are both motivational speakers. They channel stress into being more focused on their race.
Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss were a little overconfident when they started the race, that could be because of their history, both previously being on Big Brother and Derek being on The Challenge.
Glenda Roberts and Lumumba Roberts, are the first to laugh at their height difference, they are a really fun couple.
Quinton Peron and Mattie Lynch have a lot of energy to bring to the race.
Aubrey Ares and David Hernandez love each other and both are ballroom dancers, but David adds technical skills as a helicopter mechanic that may be valuable during the race.
Marcus Craig and Michael Craig are military brothers, book, and street smart. They are both highly competitive.
Tim Mann and Rex Ryan are golf buddies, Rex is a former NFL coach and both are hyper-competitive.
Abby Garrett and Will Freeman. Abby was so excited at the starting line that she could barely breathe. They are young, but they really care about each other and are mature for their ages.
The Amazing Race – Firsts
For the first time ever, there will be no non-elimination legs and Phil will announce a game-changing element in the first leg. And as mentioned above, the teams will not be departing from the US, they will be departing from Munich, Germany. Teams traveled to Germany by chartered aircraft rather than commercial, keeping with strict COVID protocols. TAR will be jumping continents to film in a brand-new country, Jordan.
Phil says that fans have always been divided on non-elimination legs, but he likes the all-or-nothing type of race.
