Yellowstone Season 5: New Cast, Expectations, What We Know

The Paramount modern cowboy drama Yellowstone has taken viewers by storm. It just seems to get better with every new season. In fact, the premiere of season 4 attracted 14.7 million viewers, while the prequel 1883 is doing pretty well too. Now, as we anticipate what we can expect from season 5, we are sure the excitement will continue. Let’s have a look at what we know so far about the fifth season of Yellowstone.
Yellowstone season 5 – what can we expect
Season 5 already has a premiere date set for November 13, 2022. As with previous seasons, new episodes will drop each Sunday at 8 pm ET. However, apparently, unlike previous seasons, this one will be split into two parts. While 14 episodes mean more Yellowstone to watch, there will likely be a wait between part 1 and part 2.
As before, Yellowstone will air on the Paramount Network, plus the Paramount+ streaming channel.

As for what we can expect, season 5 will likely pick up where those gripping cliffhangers left off. For instance, there will no doubt be plenty of drama surrounding Beth (Kelly Reilly). Fans will recall that in the season 4 finale, Beth married her sometime boyfriend Rip (Cole Hauser).
However, she also forced Jamie (Wes Bentley) to kill his biological father, Garrett (Will Patton). Moreover, she took the time to take photos of Jamie disposing of the body. This means she has blackmail material against the man who is currently in a bid for Governor.

However, John (Kevin Costner) could be a better bet for the Governor’s race, even though he only seems to be running to prove a point to Jamie. Meanwhile, he also waived Jimmy’s (Jefferson White) medical bill from his rodeo injury. Of interest to note, Jimmy looks like he will leave Yellowstone to star in the spinoff, 6666.
Cast of season 5 on Paramount

Naturally, regular Yellowstone cast members, including Reilly, Costner, Hauser and Bentley are likely to return. As will other main cast members like Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham and Kelsey Asbille.
However, as noted by TVLine, Wendy Moniz (Governor Perry), Jennifer Landon (Teeter), Moses Brings Plenty (Mo), and Kathryn Kelly (Emily) have all been upgraded to series regulars.
Meanwhile, season 5 is likely to feature more flashbacks, as Josh Lucas, Kyle Red Silverstein and Kylie Rogers return. In fact, they will play younger versions of John, Rip and Beth. Moreover, Jacki Weaver will be back as businesswoman Caroline Warner.
To keep things fresh, there will also be a number of new faces, including country singer Lainey Wilson playing a musician named Abby. Meanwhile, actor Kai Caster (The Baxters) will play a cowboy by the name of Rowdy. Meanwhile, Lilli Kay plays the Dutton’s new assistant, while Dawn Olivieri, who also stars in 1883, will play a corporate shark by the name of Sarah.
