However, Melanie Lynskey, who plays Shauna, has opened up about what she would like to see in the upcoming second season.
About Yellowjackets on Showtime
To quickly recap, Yellowjackets tells the story of a team of wildly talented high school girl soccer players. On a way to a gig, their plane crashes deep in the Ontario wilderness of Canada. From there, viewers saw their descent from a thriving team to cannibalistic, warring clans. Meanwhile, 25 years later, the now grown up girls are tracking the lives they are trying to piece back together. In fact, they gradually reveal the truth of their survival.

Season 1 of the Showtime series stars Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher and Sammi Hanratty star as the teens. Meanwhile, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis famously portray their adult counterparts
What does Melanie Lynskey want for season 2?

Fans were thrilled when Yellowjackets was renewed for a second season. However, so far little is known of what will happen in season 2, or when it will premiere. In the meantime, Emmy nominee Melanie Lynskey opens up about what she would like to see for the new season.
Talking to the Los Angeles Times, Lynskey, who plays Shauna, is obviously hoping to dive a little further into her character’s family history. Obviously, this would give her role more depth, while she could find out more about who she actually is.

In the interview, Melanie said she would love to meet her character’s immediate family. She wants to know who they are as people. However, she said the great thing about working with the show’s talented writers, is that they surprise her every time. Lynskey said:
Last season, I would be like, ‘Oh, I wonder if this is gonna happen next episode,’ and something happened that surprised me every time. Even though they took me through the whole arc of the season, there was always something where I was like, ‘Oh, wow. OK.’
I really think they know the story so deeply that they know the best path to take it on. I trust them so much.
Meanwhile, it seems Shauna could have plenty on her plate in season too. This includes some of the ritualistic practices from the wilderness that are still happening in the present. Meanwhile, Lottie is still out there, somewhere, and could be a problem.
