Season 5 the final season on Netflix
Stranger Things showrunners, the Duffer Brothers announced in February that season 5 will be the final season of the horror-sci-fi series. At the time, they wrote that there are still many more exciting stories to tell within the Stranger Things world. These include “new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.” However, they concluded by writing that, first, they hope we will stay with them as they finish this tale.
What can we expect?
Speaking to Deadline, the Duffer brothers said that their main goal with season 5 is to “stick the landing.” In fact, they already have the final 20 minutes all mapped out. In fact, Matt Duffer said the characters are already going to be in action, they have a goal and a drive. He thinks this is going to carve out at least a couple of hours and make this season truly different, adding:
I’m sure the wrap-up will be a lot longer, it’s going to be ‘Return of the King’-ish with, like, eight endings.
What’s in the Stranger Things universe?
However, while the Netflix series is coming to an end, there is more to look forward to in the Stranger Things universe. As reported by Deadline last month, the Duffer brothers have formed Upside Down Pictures and have signed an overall deal with Netflix. That deal includes a live-action Stranger Things spinoff series, based on an original idea by the Duffers. Meanwhile, Upside Down and 21 Laps will produce.

In the meantime, we will have to be patient to see what the amazing Duffer brothers come up next.
