The Duttons and Yellowstone season 5
As viewers know, season 4 of Yellowstone closed on a major cliffhanger which left fans wondering about the fate of their favorite characters. However, with so much anticipation about the fifth season, Kevin Costner (John Dutton) ruled out any major change for Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly).
Fans of the modern Western drama have followed the lives of the Dutton family from the start. The family is constantly fighting to protect their ranch. However, because the Dutton ranch is the largest in the country, businessmen constantly want a piece of the pie. In fact, they have plans to build on part of the ranch and rake in millions. All along, the Duttons have fought land developers, casino bosses and the Broken Rock Reservation.
While each offers the ranch’s patriarch, John Dutton, a substantial amount of money, he constantly turns them down. He is not interested in the money and just wishes to retain the land that has been in his family for seven generations. However, that’s not all, as the family has also been forced to fight for their own lives as they are bombarded with death threats and assassination attempts.
Beth stands tall alongside her brothers
The constant fighting to protect their ranch has particularly impacted Beth, John’s tough, no-nonsense daughter. In fact for a long time, she was the only woman on the ranch and was raised alongside her brothers. Meanwhile, this has led to her being fearless and tough, always eager to show she can stand on her own two feet.
However, there is more to Beth that her fearlessness. In fact, fans have also seen her tender side when it comes to her husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser). Beth and Rip were married in the finale episode of season 4 after having spent most of their lives together. Moreover, Rip has worked on the Dutton ranch since his teen years.
Another side of Beth was seen in season 3. Fans will recall that she took in Carter (Finn Little), a young boy whose father died. As Beth was unable to have her own children, she and Rip started raising Carter on the ranch as part of the family.
Will Beth change in season 5 of Yellowstone?
In an interview with Extra TV, lead actor Kevin Costner was asked if her marriage will change Beth in the upcoming season. He said he doesn’t think she can “hold herself back.” He added:
I think she has instincts but I think that the blood runs really hot with her.
It sounds like fans have plenty to look forward to relating to Beth in season 5. This is especially so when it comes to what kind of vengeance John’s daughter will take on her adoptive brother, Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley).
Now, fans just have to wait until November 13, 2022, to find out what happens next.
