How Much Does Kevin Costner Earn From Yellowstone?

As fans know, Kevin Costner plays the lead of the ranch-owning John Dutton on the modern Western series Yellowstone. However, he also produces and directs the popular series. This has led to a new report revealing the jaw-dropping salary Costner is earning for his work on the show.
Kevin Costner’s salary for Yellowstone
According to Variety, Kevin Costner, the Oscar-winning actor, director and producer of Yellowstone is racking in a lot of cash for his hard work. In fact, it is reported that the actor who plays John Dutton earns $1.3 million for each episode of the show. Bearing in mind that season 5 of Yellowstone is currently filming, his salary is definitely jaw-dropping. However, apparently, that’s not all, as he earns even more money for his role as a Yellowstone producer.

This enormous salary places Costner in a rare company when it comes to television actors who earn $1 million or more per episode. Variety chatted to a number of agents and other Hollywood insiders to compile this list. So far, only The Plot star, Mahershala Ali, is in the same league as Costner salary-wise.
Which other actors are close in salary?
While Kevin and Mahershala share the same high salary, Elizabeth Moss comes close by reportedly earning $1.1 million per episode of the thriller series Shining Girls.
Meanwhile, Michael Keaton also earned $1 for Dopesick, while Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd both enjoyed $1 million per episode of The Shrink Next Door. Moreover, Jason Sudeikis also brings in $1 million per episode of Ted Lasso.
Yellowstone the hit Paramount series

Costner’s salary may be high, but Yellowstone is a huge hit for its co-creator and writer, Taylor Sheridan. The show, currently filming the fifth season has recently added UK audiences to its viewers on Paramount+. Meanwhile, big-name actors, Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are each earning $1 million per episode of 1923, the upcoming Yellowstone prequel.

As for Costner’s co-stars in Yellowstone, reportedly each earned less than half of his salary when the show first premiered. In fact, Cinema Blend estimated that Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton) and Kelsey Asbille (Monica Dutton) all earned around $200,000 per episode or less.
So far, no reports are out on the salaries for the rest of Yellowstone’s cast. However, they are probably raking in a lot more now as filming continues for season 5.
Meanwhile, Yellowstone season 5 is set to premiere on November 13. This season will feature 14 episodes, split to air in two, seven-episode arcs.
