As noted by Deadline, the five new cast members are set to play first-year surgical residents at Grey Sloan. This comes after the hospital was ordered to rebuild its teaching program in the exciting season 18 finale. So far, no other spoilers have been released for season 19, but it looks like Corsone will keep us updated.
Season 18 ended on a high note

Season 18 of Grey’s Anatomy certainly ended on an exciting note. Besides the cliffhanger, the show took the top spot for Thursday night ratings for what is its 400th episode. In fact, the two-hour season 18 finale grabbed a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demo rating along with 3.97 million viewers.
Meanwhile, it is always good to see new faces in ABC’s famous medical drama, the latest of which was Harry Shum, Jr. He plays the role of Daniel “Blue” Kwan, a sharp-witted, impatient and brilliant doctor. While he is generous by nature and naturally gifted, Blue is also competitive by nature. This means that as a doctor, he is used to winning at everything he does. Fans may wonder why his character is older than the average surgical resident. It turns out a crisis in his family interfered with his career goals and he now has plenty to prove.
