Yellowstone spoilers and updates tease that Dame Helen has joined the cast of the show’s upcoming prequel titled 1923. Now, fans are wondering what role the actress will play in the show.
1923, previously titled 1932, is the latest addition to Taylor Sheridan’s shows on Paramount. Yellowstone prequel will star Harrison Ford and Dame Helen Mirren. Not much has been revealed as to what characters these actors will play in the upcoming series.
What Character Will Dame Helen Mirren Play?
Fans of Yellowstone hope to expect Mirren to play a strong Dutton woman in the upcoming prequel, one that’s similar to Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton) in Yellowstone, and Faith Hill (Margaret Dutton), and Isabel May (Elsa Dutton) in 1883. But for now, fans will just have to wait for further updates.
Meanwhile, viewers think that Ford will also play the older version of a child character that was featured in 1883.
What Can Fans Expect?
Just like the other prequel, 1883, 1923 follows a story that’s set in the same year as its title. It will focus on a different generation of the Duttons and will take place during the prohibition and before the Great Depression.
In 1923, the Duttons will face a range of problems including famine, droughts, and cattle theft as they build their Montana ranch.
Sheridan said that 1923 will focus on the generation of Duttons who were featured as kids back in the previous prequel, 1883.
“You’re seeing the children we’ve met in 1883 now attempting to raise another generation of Duttons at a time of the Wild West becoming a playground for the elite from the east,” Sheridan said.
Kevin Costner Weighs In On Yellowstone Rumor
Yellowstone has become a huge hit with the season 4 finale ranking as the most watched cable TV show since 2017. Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on November 13. Paramount Network has not released any announcement as to whether the show will be renewed for season 6. Fans will just have to wait and see what happens next once season 5 ends.
Kevin Costner, who plays the role of John Dutton, talked about the show’s future.
“I really don’t know. That’s why I look to the future. I deal with everything I have to do, but I’m not going to get flat-footed by anybody,” he teased.
