Yellowjackets season 2 spoilers reveal that the Showtime TV show will return. However, it might be quite a while before fans get to see what’s next after a successful first season. While a lot of information isn’t being released, the showrunners did tease there are more survivors out there. Plus, don’t expect any less “chill” in future episodes. Keep reading to find out more information.
Renewal and Premiere Date
Yellowjackets spoilers reveal that Showtime did renew the series for season 2. However, no premiere date has been released. It was stated that the show bosses would like to do it annually. If that timeline works out, then that would put season 2 premiering in November 2022.
However, it will more likely be December 2022. The Hollywood Reporter also teased that the series was pitched as a five-season arc.
Yellowjackets Season 2 Spoilers: Secret Survivors
According to Playlist, in the Discourse podcast, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson talked about Yellowjackets. The showrunners teased that in season 2, expect there to be more survivors.
“I guess we can tease for Season 2 – you know, there are other survivors out there and that will come into play. I also think that, much like we were discussing the supernatural before, the idea of belief and what people do and don’t believe in – that will be very central thematically to the second season.
Get Ready for Cannibalism
Yellowjackets season 2 spoilers reveal that fans already expect cannibalism. The showrunners admitted that they tried the fans’ patience with that ever since the first episode. While some shows will drag certain storylines out for a long time – sometimes for several seasons – that is not the plan with Yellowjackets. In fact, the showrunners said they will not drag it out forever and to get ready.
“And I think that we’re well aware that we’ve maybe tried the viewership’s patience a little bit with our tease of cannibalism in episode one and I’d like to assure everyone that we will not be dragging that out forever, so get ready.”
Yellowjackets Season 2 Spoilers
As for what else to expect, there will be more of the supernatural that the girls deal with. However, it was explained that it’s not important whether the incidents are real or not (such as with that possession scene in the first season). The writer/producer team made it clear to Playlist that it seems real for the girls.
“I think the most important point when it comes to the supernatural is what our characters believe. That ultimately is more important than what’s real and what isn’t… Possession is something that has been sort of documented. Whether or not it’s real – it’s something people believe that’s happened to them and other people believe happens to them.”
