Major star power is coming to the upcoming Yellowstone prequel series, 1932 as Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren join the cast. Of course, this isn’t the first time A-list actors have enjoyed working with Taylor Sheridan. Besides Kevin Costner, stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jeremy Renner and Sam Elliott also jumped on the bandwagon. Stallone starred in Tulsa King, with Renner starring in Mayor of Kingstown and, of course, Elliott in 1883.
Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren to star in Yellowstone prequel 1932
Yellowstone fans will no doubt be thrilled to hear that Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are upcoming stars for the Yellowstone prequel, 1932. Meanwhile, the actors have previously starred opposite each other in The Mosquito Coast.
Moreover, 1932 serves as a follow-up to the previous Yellowstone prequel, 1883. In that series, fans earned the origin story of the Dutton clan and how they came to Montana.
As noted by Deadline, 1932 will follow the Dutton family during the Great Depression and Prohibition era in the US. Meanwhile, it will tell the story of the parents and grandparents of Yellowstone’s John Dutton. It seems fans won’t have too long to wait for the new prequel series as it is set to premiere in December 2022 as an early Christmas present.
Harrison Ford and TV
Meanwhile, 1932 is Harrison Ford’s second TV series to recently be announced. In fact, he will also star in a comedy series, Shrinking, on Apple TV. The series comes from How I Met Your Mother creators, Jason Segel, Ted Lasso and Bill Lawrence.
No doubt fans are aware of the many iconic movie roles that Ford has played. These include franchise films like Indiana Jones, Star Wars and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan films, Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger.
Helen Mirren’s career
Meanwhile, Helen Mirren has won several awards for her acting, including an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy and a Tony award. She is known for movies like Red Queen and The Madness of King George.
Meanwhile, Yellowstone’s creator, Sheridan has a multi-year development deal with Paramount. This allows him to create content for their streaming service Paramount+ Meanwhile, Taylor has nine shows currently in various stages of production, most with A-list talent attached.
While we can’t give an exact date, 1932 is set to stream exclusively on Paramount+ in December 2022, hopefully in time for Christmas.
