NCIS spoilers and updates tease that Sean Murray talks about Mark Harmon’s absence as Gibbs on the show. He also weighed in on whether Harmon will still return to the show.
Season 10 debuted without Mark Harmon as Gibbs on the show. Harmon has been with the show since its first episode aired. In recent years, news started to circulate that he would be leaving the CBS show. It’s been revealed that Gibbs was sent on a big and long mission as a way to explain Harmon’s absence. Will this be for good, or will Harmon return to the show eventually?
Sean Murray’s Thoughts On Mark Harmon’s Return
Murray portrays the role of Special Agent Timothy McGee in NCIS. In an interview with Parade Magazine, he said that Gibbs was last seen at the time when he was sent off to another mission.
The actor added that he has no idea whether or not Harmon will return as Gibbs. Just like other fans, he’s also hoping that the latter will return to the show.
Murray revealed that Harmon is just around. He even shared that he saw him two weeks ago.
“It’s not like he’s packed up and left town or anything. I’m not saying this just to say it for a tease and all that BS, I really, truly believe that the Gibbs could pop up somewhere. I really believe that there’s a possibility of that happening.
Given that Harmon is still coming around the set, he’s hoping that the latter would return even if it’s just for a couple of episodes. Murray, just like other fans, would love to know what happened during his mission and how it’ll affect the character.
Rumors of Harmon’s Departure
Reports that Harmon won’t be a part of season 19 started to circulate when the show was renewed back in April 2021. Harmon was informed that CBS will end the show if he decides to quit. So, the actor managed to come up with a deal to keep the show going as long as he continues to appear in a few episodes.
Gibbs may no longer be around but the show managed to keep viewers glued to it. However, it’s undeniable that the show isn’t the same without him in the picture. Harmon doesn’t seem to have any other projects aside from NCIS. With season 19 nearing its end, fans are still hoping that they can see their favorite character in season 20.
