With the working title Downey’s Dream Cars, the series will follow the Avengers star along with a team of experts. Robert Downey Jr. to launch a new Discovery+ series
The unscripted series, Downey’s Dream Cars (working title) will star Robert Downey Jr., along with a team of experts. Between them, the team will restore beautiful classic cars to make them more eco-friendly. As readers likely know, while beautiful to look at, classic cars tend to be gas guzzlers. Meanwhile, with the series team’s efforts, this will change.
Moreover, the series is aimed at lovers of classic cars, but who are also environmentally conscious. On the show, they will get to see the classic vehicles as they are restored in an eco-friendly way while maintaining the beauty and aesthetic of the vehicles.
About the new classic cars series
The Hollywood Reporter quotes Downey Jr. in a statement about the new series:
“My goal is to showcase that it’s possible to keep the integrity of classic cars while leveraging new tech and innovation to make them more eco-friendly. I’m thrilled audiences will get to see this series on Discovery+ later this year.”
Meanwhile, the series is to be produced by Team Downey and Boat Rocker’s Matador Content for Discovery+. The new series is set to premiere on Discovery+ towards the end of 2022.
Nancy Daniels, Chief Brand Officer for Discovery spoke of the new classic cars project. She said how excited they are to bring to audiences a series that shows the spirit of who Downey Jr. is. Daniels added that in the series, he will put his passion for the environment center stage.
That, and who better than Robert Downey Jr. to make eco-friendly cars look this good?
