New Daredevil Series Led By Charlie Cox Coming to Disney+

Daredevil is set to return to a streaming platform after a five year absence! Last appearing in his own series on Netflix five years ago, Daredevil is once again returning in a brand new series with Charlie Cox slated to return as the Man Without Fear! Finally, after months of speculation and rumors, Marvel Studios is moving forward with a brand new Daredevil series to air on Disney +. Daredevil last aired five years ago on Netflix.

Disney+ Picked Up Daredevil

Earlier this year, Daredevil and several other shows left Netflix to join the rest of the Marvel library on Disney+. While this was great news for fans of the show, the future of the character Matt Murdock/Daredevil was very much left up in the air. But once Cox had a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, hope was rekindled for a Daredevil revival, which would now be part of the much larger Marvel Cinematic Universe!

According to Variety, Disney+ is moving forward with a brand-new Daredevil series, once again starring Charlie Cox. Additionally, the series is being developed by Chris Ord and Matt Corman who will do double-duty as writers and executive producers for the new show. The duo is best known for their work on Covert Affairs and The Brave.

Marvel has not yet released an official announcement regarding the new Daredevil series. It is expected that most likely the new series would begin airing in late 2023 or early 2024. It is also rumored that Kevin Feige and Chris Gray (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) will be producing the new series.

Daredevil Charlie Cox Ready To Reprise Role

After his popular appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, actor Charlie Cox has revealed he was open to reprising the role in the future. Future cameos in Marvel Studios’ Echo and She-Hulk are also likely before the new solo series debuts! This will certainly generate even more interest in the character just in time for his solo outing.

It remains to be seen how Disney+ will integrate the dark and gritty Netflix version of Daredevil into the larger MCU. Disney will need to find a way to merge the character’s darker beginnings at Netflix with the more family-friendly Disney series.
