About the original Married… With Children

Airing from 1987 to 1997, Married… With Children was the first scripted series on the Fox network. It is considered to be one of the best TV shows in pop culture. Meanwhile, it was also one of the longest-running live-action comedy series to ever air on network TV.

When the sitcom ended its 11th season in 1997, the show was still attracting nine million viewers per episode. However, in season 9, Married… With Children attracted an average of 15 million viewers per episode. Reportedly, the only reason for the fall in viewership in the last two seasons was because Fox moved the show to different nights.
