Rebel Wilson Calls Prince Harry and Meghan’s Oprah Interview a FANTASY Show

Rebel Wilson Calls Prince Harry and Meghan's Oprah Interview a FANTASY Show

The legacy of the controversial Oprah interview featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex lives on. The tell-all interview rounded out its first year last week, and while there were plenty of things to reflect on regarding the interview and the claims it gave birth to, it’s the latest poke at the bombshell interview by Rebel Wilson that’s woken up the internet.

Actress Rebel Wilson Jokes That Harry and Meghan’s Oprah Interview Should Be Nominated For “Outstanding British Film”

No one does tough love, or is it comedy, like Australian actress Rebel Wilson, 47. Hosting this year’s BAFTA awards, which took place on Sunday at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the actress referenced pop culture moments, as well as public figures, in her comedy stints.

Two of the people she couldn’t resist having a go at were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Wilson was announcing the nominees for the Outstanding British Film category when she said: “Our next package is for Outstanding British Film.”

She continued by lightly adding: “From drama to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview had it all… Unfortunately, that’s not nominated in this category, but some incredible films are. Let’s take a look at some of the most outstanding British films this year.”

The Sussex couple’s sit-down with American chat show host Oprah was nominated for a 2021 Television Critics Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a People’s Choice Award.

After taking a swipe at the popular couple, Wilson then went on to list the “incredible films” which were actually nominated, calling out blockbusters like “After Love”, “Ali & Ava”, “Belfast”, “Boiling Point”, “Cyrano”, “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”, “House of Gucci”, “Last Night in Soho”, “No Time to Die”, and “Passing”. “Belfast” was crowned the winner.

Prince Andrew also did not escape the heat of Wilson’s quips, as she reminded people of his infamous night at Pizza Express.

It was a lucky thing that Prince William, who is the president of the BAFTA awards, and Kate Middleton respectfully opted out of attending the show, or there would have been some royal awkward moments.

Anyway, the Emma Watson cringe was a moment worth seeing on camera.
