Netflix VS Hulu – Which Streaming Service Is Best For You?

Netflix VS Hulu – Which Streaming Service Is Best For You?Netflix or Hulu? Streaming movies and TV shows online is all the rage these days, and has quickly become a replacement for cable. You already have WIFI, why pay an expensive cable bill when you can stream TV shows and movies online for a fraction of the price, right? Deciding to switch to a streaming service is only half the battle though. Now, you have to decide which one.

As online streaming services become more and more popular, there are more and more options popping up. But, the two most popular services are Netflix and Hulu. Most people find themselves stuck between which service they should go with. While Netflix and Hulu serve virtually the same purpose – they are actually very different.

If you are one of those people who like to wait until a TV show is over so you can watch the entire show in its entirety, Netflix is definitely the appropriate choice for you. Once a season of a TV show is over, its added to the Netflix database, with all of the seasons. However, some people like to remain current – in that case, you should go with Hulu. Hulu has new episodes of TV shows the day after they air on television, so you can be up to date with all of your friends and online spoilers.

There is however a con to having up-to-date episodes of a TV show on Hulu. Unlike Netflix, Hulu has commercials during their shows. (Although, if you want to pay more than the $8 a month, then you can watch commercial free). On Netflix you can watch hours of TV shows commercial free, however on Hulu there are ad interruptions. The ads usually last a total of three minutes or less though, so they are still much shorter than the commercials you have to deal with on regular cable.

Most people are more interested in the movies on Netflix and Hulu than they are the TV shows. Hulu and Netflix have a lot of the same movie choices. However, Netflix is unrolling more and more Netflix original series and movies – which Hulu doesn’t have (yet). Hulu is getting on the original series bandwagon, but they still are much more behind than Netflix.

So, in the big Netflix VS Hulu debate, there really is no wrong choice. It’s more or less which choice is best for your viewing needs. Honestly, both services are dirt cheap, and you wouldn’t break the bank paying for both of them, and that way you can enjoy the best of both worlds!
