Being the mother of a newborn baby is stressful, we can only imagine what it must be like to be the mother of a newborn baby while juggling a Hollywood career and living in the public eye. Drew Barrymore has an impressive resume, and over the course of the last three years the actress added being a mother of two to her list of projects. Drew’s daughter Olive is now 3-years-old, and her daughter Frankie is 18-months-old. Barrymore recently opened up in an interview with People Magazine, and revealed that after the birth of her second daughter Frankie – she suffered from postpartum depression!
Actress Hayden Panettiere shocked the world last week when she revealed that she had been battling postpartum depression since the birth of her daughter – and she checked in to a clinic for treatment. It turns out, there are actually several famous women who have battled with the emotional disorder – including Drew Barrymore.
Drew dished in her interview with People Magazine, “I didn’t have postpartum the first time so I didn’t understand it because I was like, ‘I feel great!’ The second time, I was like, ‘Oh, whoa, I see what people talk about now. I understand.’ It’s a different type of overwhelming with the second. I really got under the cloud.” The actress seems to have gotten through the depression, and she and her daughters are flourishing now. Drew also dished to People Magazine about balancing her career and motherhood, and the stigma that seems to follow around women that continue to work after they have babies.
