Coffee is my drug of choice. Coffee ice-cream, hot coffee, iced coffee, coffee scented candles, coffee cake, and so on are all staples in my household. If Starbucks had a customer of the month, it would be me, hands down. So, when I learned on Pinterest that it is now socially acceptable to smear coffee on your face and classify it as a “beauty routine,” I was totally on board.
Coffee is multifaceted, and just as good for you on the outside as it is on the inside. Not only does consuming coffee help you function and avoid murdering your co-workers, but it’s good for your skin too! Apparently, coffee has anti-inflammatory properties, which is exactly what any good facial products contain. The anti-flamatory properties in coffee can reduce swollenness, puffy eyes, and even blemishes. Who would have thought?
A coffee mask is by far the easiest DIY home facial I have ever come across on the internet. And, chances are you already have all of the ingredients you need in your kitchen cupboard.
And, yeah, you can absolutely eat it if you want. Although, I can tell you that it does not taste as good as it smells. Whip the ingredients up in a bowl, and once they are mixed together, you should have a nice paste. Use your hands to apply it to your entire face (probably not in your eyes or nose), and then wait 20 minutes. It will dry on your face, similar to a mud mask. After the 20 minutes are up, head to the bathroom and wash it off like you would any other facial. Voila! Your face smells amazing, your skin will appear clearer ad less puffy, and you can skip exfoliating for the day.

Just a heads up – you will most definitely NOT want to wear a nice shirt, the DIY coffee facial will stain!
